Events Lounge is operated by Jacqui Osz, trading as Truthpower (12 St James Court, Clarendon Road, Harpenden AL5 4UW), the “data controller” responsible for your data. For anything about your data, or to exercise a right below, email jacqui.osz@gmail.com.
Only what the service needs:
- Account — your name, email, phone (optional) and a securely hashed password.
- Interest & questions — the actors you register interest in and any questions you submit.
- Tickets & redemption — the name you’d like to be called, whether you want to be visible in a session, and your acceptance of the house rules and terms (with the date and IP address of acceptance).
- Payments — handled by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and a reference; we never see or store your full card details.
- Live sessions — sessions run on Zoom; your participation (and any audio/video) is processed to run the event.
- Casting tapes, clips & second-unit — if you choose to take part, the short videos you record, stored privately, shown only with the consents you give.
- Agents & agencies — business details, and messages exchanged between a linked actor and agent.
- Contracts — for actors, an e-signature record including your typed name, the time, and your IP address.
- Marketing preference — only if you tick it (never pre-ticked, always optional).
- Technical — a single sign-in cookie, your IP address and basic server logs, for security and to keep you signed in.
- To provide the service (accounts, bookings, running sessions, paying actors) — performance of a contract.
- Marketing emails, casting/clip use, being visible on camera — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Security, fraud prevention and running events safely — our legitimate interests.
- Keeping payment, payout and contract records — to meet our legal obligations (tax and accounting).
We do not sell your data. We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
- Stripe — payments and payouts.
- Zoom — the live video sessions.
- Cloudflare R2 — private storage for casting tapes and clips.
- Resend / Amazon SES — sending our emails.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting (London, UK region).
Some of these are based outside the UK/EEA; where data is transferred internationally it is protected by an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
We keep your account data while your account is open. Payment, payout and contract records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally six years in the UK). Session clips are kept only for the retention window shown when they’re created (30 days by default) and are deleted on request at any time. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your data, except records we must keep by law.
Under the UK/EU GDPR you can:
- Ask for a copy of your data (access) and for it in a portable format.
- Correct data that’s wrong (rectification).
- Ask us to delete your data (erasure), subject to records we must keep.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw any consent you’ve given, at any time.
To exercise any of these, email jacqui.osz@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk), or your local EU supervisory authority.
We use one strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there’s no consent banner to click.
Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Casting tapes and clips are private and only reachable through short-lived links. The site is served over HTTPS.
Events Loungeis intended for adults (18 and over). We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
We’ll update this page if our practices change, and update the date above.
